Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Course Description
Topics include connecting to a WAN; implementing network security; network types; network media; routing and switching fundamentals; the TCP/IP and OSI models; IP addressing; WAN technologies; operating and configuring IOS devices; extending switched networks with VLANs; determining IP routes; managing IP traffic with access lists; establishing point-to-point connections; and establishing Frame Relay connections.
Course Objectives:
This course focuses on providing the skills and knowledge necessary to install, operate, and troubleshoot a small to medium branch office Enterprise network, including configuring a switch, a router, and connecting to a WAN and implementing network security. Students should be able to complete configuration and implementation of a small branch office network under supervision. Students will also learn to configure, verify, and troubleshoot OSPF and EIGRP. Students will be able to apply ACLs based on network requirements, and configure, verify, and troubleshoot ACLs on a medium-sized network. Students can configure and judge between NAT and PAT for a medium-sized network.
